The circus is in town.
The Catholic church has organised a World Youth Day in Sydney. Federal ($22 million) and state ($86 million) government, as well as some blue chips are sponsoring what is essentially a marketing campaign for the Vatican.
Due to the criticism this event has attracted, the government passed a new law which threatens protesters whose actions are deemed to offend the pilgrims (e.g. wearing a t-shirt that reads “There is no God” or handing out condoms) with a $5500 fine.

They should put some money into the Plunkett line. I called up and the number was dead.
Thank goodness it wasn’t a matter of life and death.

Excuse the ignorance, but what is the Plunkett line? Is it related to the Plunkett Centre for Ethics?
